Sometime, pictures like that allow me to clear my mind and, all of a sudden I move outside my room and try to lie down and watch the deep sky.
In Rabwah (a town in Pakistan), there are not much lights of city, so I can see a clear sky. Such a beauty it is.

Having a clear sky in your backyard is a blessing of its own. 
Just as so you have asked, have a look at an old picture of my backyard[^]. It is a lot beautiful now as compared to this picture, as the grass has grown smoother and we have also added some roses to it. Resting in it, and watching the clear sky is just as beautiful as anything can be.
Plus, the mountains at the back (just 20 mins far, on foot) and the river (Chenab River; same 20 mins far) make it even better.
As a programmer, I think... They play a vital role in keeping me sane.

I miss having a garden. When I was a young child we lived behind a farm when there were still working farms at the edge of large cities. I could go out and have acres of land to play in.
Now I have a view of the backside of Fry's which is lit up 24/7.

IMHO, another example of pointer is a search tool like Google, Bing, ...
What they show is just pointers (links) to external websites having the content searched for. However, we say, somewhat incorrectly, that "Google told me this result", "Bing gave me that answer", etc.

Soon we will get to hear, "Cortana told me that...".

Just asked Bing the question "Who are you?"
The first answer it gave is: "Who Are You is the eighth studio album by English rock band The Who,..." from the Wikipedia page of "Who are you".
It didn't say "I am a search engine", implying that it is just a pointer.
Same result from Google also

Maybe but this often-used analogy often confuses people when they start to think about pointers to pointers, because then they take the analogy too seriously.
So how about this one: memory is an array, pointers are indexes in the array.
That's not even really an analogy.
People understand indexes into arrays, but "pointers are hard", and because we keep telling ourselves that it becomes true.
And then we use sh*tty analogies that only work if you already understand pointers and it just adds more confusion.

I don't think pointers are that hard to understand. I mean they are doing exactly what they are named after. They point at things. To be more specific: They point at a memory location of a thing.
Pointers are things as well. So, if you like pointers you can point a pointer at a pointer.
I hope I made my point clear!

I'm looking forward to Windows 10 release. I'll be buying a new computer this year and have been waiting for 10 to release.

How do we get this mythical Windows 10 everybody is talking about?
This is the most unimpressive new Windows OS launch I've ever seen. What ever happened to queueing up outside PC World all night to get my hands on the new and latest must have add on for my PC?
I mean, I know Windows 8 hurt Microsoft badly, so I can imagine why they are keen to downplay it, but it would be nice if it even got a single mention anywhere else other than the Lounge.
