Generally speaking computing terms are not translated which is what Google is telling you. American English is considered the standard for technical terms. It saves a lot of confusion.

So, I believe this story was brought up a few days ago, but I found this article[^] that explains the whole story. It seems Kik was rather heavy handed in their request for the developer to change the package name, and the dev was being a stubborn sunshine. I don't think npm's stance helped much either.
It's a rather interesting situation, and it kinda proves how fragile the modern web is due to the dependence on open source code and automatic package retrieval. I'm not sure that the developer even knew how much effect the removal of his packages would have, but to bring down web development all across the world, including at Kik (which I'm sure brought a smile to his face), is rather impressive.

Well, it was stupid for all those peeps to make websites directly dependent on an external code distribution service. Use NPM to do the initial get, store it on your own servers, update from NPM when necessary.
Problem solved.

It's not surprising to happen in js. That's why the petition[^] is created. At least if it helps to limit it's usage from such wild, uncontrollable development.

So I was watching Person of Interest, season 4 "Nautilus", when Finch mentioned something called the Bondard Problem[^].
Literally at the same instant, I received a message on slack:
"They use Bomgar." which turns out to be remote desktop connection software[^]
That was weird, as I what I heard and what I saw typed sounded like the same thing!
And if you're wondering why I was watching PofI, well, I was doing some customer support and waiting for them to call back, and there's not much else to do that was easily interruptable.

Don't invalidate multiple chemical sensitivity, it is very real along with emf sensitivity. Good programming articles here btw
