It's my understanding that CP allows you to post a link to your blog as an answer to a question.

But posting a link to your blog, whilst trying to disguise the fact that it's your blog, in answer to an already-answered question from two years ago, is very suspicious.
"Check out this article on my blog" might have been OK. "Check out this excellent article" smells like spam.

It just doesn't bother me. If someone can answer a question, let them. I don't care how. I often link to other sites when answering questions. If it answers the question, who cares if it is my site or someone else's. Not me.

Again, not the issue here. I wasn't objecting to him linking to his own site. I was objecting to him seemingly trying to hide the fact that it was his site.

Ideally we'd like the answer to be self-contained so no one has to go linking around to get the solution.
