Unfortunately true. A few decades back the IRS claimed taxes from a prostitute's (illegal) income. The fact that the source is illegal makes no difference to the "revenooers".

Microsoft is looking to entice more Win32 and .NET developers to bring their apps to the Windows 10 Store via its Desktop Converter, aka its 'Centennial' bridge. Got any old apps lying around that you want to sell?
I'd say, "VB6 apps", but frickin' Hanselman beat me to it.

While Windows phones will probably keep bleeding market share in the coming months, Microsoft remains committed to keep Windows 10 Mobile alive and so far the mobile OS is still being updated at a regular pace. And by "dedicated", they mean, "flailing for the last two decades"

When Adblock Plus unveiled its own ad network in a bid to make money from toned-down ads, it raised more than a few eyebrows... including those of its supposed ad partners. While the company said that its Acceptable Ads Platform would supply ads from Google and AppNexus, it turns out that it was merely relying on a go-between company (ComboTag) to get those ads. It hadn't asked the underlying ad providers about a deal -- and now, they want out. Both Google and AppNexus are ending their associations with ComboTag, leaving Adblock Plus without much of a leg to stand on.

The release of Java 9 could be delayed to July 2017, according to Mark Reinhold, the Chief Architect of the Java Platform Group at Oracle. Although there has been significant progress on Project Jigsaw, “at this point it’s clear that it needs more time.” They've found the edge pieces, but some of the middle ones might be under the couch

Swift 3 is a huge release containing major improvements and refinements to the core language and Standard Library, major additions to the Linux port of Swift, and the first official release of the Swift Package Manager. Now even better a choice over Objective-C?

Not sure, but when I worked for Boeing back in the 90's, in the Life Sciences Testing Center, a colleague and I found the "Cow Flatulence in Relation to Global Warming" study. Reading it was funny enough, but when we read the name of the environmental scientist, we thought that it had to be a joke. The name on the paper was Dr. Colon Leaky.
