The ongoing dispute goes on...and on...
Microsoft will respond to the proposal to turn it's company into a couple of Baby Bills by suggesting its own set of penalties. The options include
- allowing users and OEMs to "hide" Internet Explorer
- allowing third parties to customize the desktop so windows doesn't look so much like, well, Windows
- Providing software manufactures with information to allow them to develop applications for windows in a more timely fashion, and
- discontinuing the practice of make restrictive agreements to force companies to promote Microsofts products over other products.
