How to make an MFC application compatible to a particular file

Basically i have created a single doc MFC application with html view. When i run the application for visual studio using F5, it runs as expected. But when i double click the file(like *.txt) in windows in launches my MFC application but doesnt run as expected. it doesnt read the file properly. Can you help giving the trace where i should take care of this situation. As in where can i load the browser with the file i m double clicking.
