CustomDocumentProperties in MS Project 2010

I a created a CustomDocumentProperties field in MS Project using vb.net. The value for the field is being fed through a TextBox in a form. When I open the form I am not able to retrieve the value in the TextBox, eventhough the value is there in the Properties.
