text input method in a j2me device!

Hi.
i'm programming for a j2me device and i wanna have maximum speed in surfing an using the program! but the device is very slow in entering a text in my project texfileds. so i had seen some programs in the same device that when user wanna add a text in a textbox first choose the text box and then the device open another page to write (we had seen this page either in old cellphone when we pushed * ).
so i wanna know how can i get my textbox input in that way?!
