What is the max size of string that can be displayed in CListCtrl?

cchTextMax in LVN_GETDISPINFO gives different values. Sometimes it is 256, some time 260, and sometimes 512..
Can we predict the size returned in this callback?

Solution 1

The documentation says that only 260 can be displayed. I would stay in the sure side and never store data in the control, but only displaying it. Store it in your data model.

You should accept it and work with it. Such limititation arent worth it to invest a lot of effort.
