Have searched the whole internet for a solution and the solutions i've found are complicated and do not relate to my problem.

The application is a .Net 4.5 wpf application made in visual studio 2013. Any form of help and or links to helpful sources would be much appreciated

Did you change the configuration file or any other files after performing your publish. Most typically this happens when you want to change your database connection string in the configuration file.

haven't done anything similar to that. I usually copy my project to another directory then use the the copied solution to publish a testing application. I don't really know if this has an effect that may result in such a behavior. Is there anything i can do to fix this.

1) Include the DLL with your project.
2) Update your version numbers on your project.
3) In your project settings file, set your security tab to ' Click Once Security Settings ' and make sure you have a signed click once manafest under signing.

Most of these issues you are having are related to your manifest file settings.
