How to preserve grid's state in cookie using Grid.Mvc grid

I am using Grid.Mvc's grid. I want to preserve filter and sorting applied on grid throughout the application. For that i want save grid's data in cookie so that i can preserver the same. but i am not getting Grid's data. Can we customize gridmvc.js file to fetch filtered data
