Hi,
I need an urgent help on a technical query.
I have joined a new place of work. Currently this place has a virtual desktop login for development activities (XP with IIS 5.0). I have access to the production login(windows server 2008 r2, IIS 7.2) for general activities. Both of which is hosted in the cloud which also has a shared snapshot of users desktop session. The development project/code resides in a network location.

Now, I am supposed to set up and host the web and wcf based code (currently in .net 4.0, sql server 2008 r2) residing in the shared network location. I am able to open the code in shared network drive using the visual studio with developer login( IIS 5.0).

The question is : Is it possible to host (in IIS) the asp.net application on a Windows server 2008 server machine with the code residing in the shared network folder? Or,Host locally?Or, what are the other possible options to host the application in these scenario?

Could you please guide me as I don't have much of knowledge on this?
Many thanks,
Rashmi
