How to solve following error

A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)

Hello,

There are some points you could check:

- Check the SQL Server Name / IP configured in the applications web.config. You can do this by execute "ping <sql name="" or="" ip="">" in a cmd box on the Web Server (!).
- Try to access the SQL Server via SQL Management Studio from the Web Server (!)

If you are using network server check out the server machine is started or not.
