Visual Studio on Ubuntu???
First I wanted to ask which galaxy you are from but changed my mind. Make that which universe?

Is iNet apples own cut down and castrated version of the internet? Could also be that your keyboard is broken.

MS-Office
Visual studio 2008

Microsoft softwares on Ubuntu?!!
Better you go for a dual boot system.

For MS office, you can use OpenOffice. You can give MonoDevelop a try instead of VS2008.

Dual booting means having two Operating systems into the same computer and start it (boot) with one or the other one...
If you are afraid/don't know how to do it (a simple Google search will help you on that) you can also take a look at a virtual machine (which is less dangerous if your computer is currently running).
You can't run Visual Studio - AT ALL - on Linux, even with the help of the WINE project. MS Office might work, but the experience will be less than desireable. On the other hand, there's always Open Office which is supposed to be able to create/load MS office documents. Your best bet is to run Windows in a VM if you want to run those applications.
