missing entries in pixel depth (bits) and compression ..capDlgVideoFormat

Dear Friends,
Recently I am facing a peculiar problem with my video capture program. The capDlgVideoFormat dialog box does not show all the options in the Pixel Depth(bits) and Compression drop down list. For example RGB24 goes missing from the list. This happens in a working system which was earlier showing the RGB24 option. Is it something to do with a virus? Once this happens even restarting the PC does not help. I am using Windows XP and Logitech web cam with Microsoft driver.
The application was developed 10 years ago using VFW.
