item at index 0 not showing in dropdown list

Hi,

i have a problem when i bound the datasource to a dropdown list, the item at index 0 (eg: ---Please Select---) not show when running time.but the databound which is from server are showing. please help me or explain to me why is this happen..??

If it is databound, what makes you believe that your first item "please select" should survive? Anyway, can you make some code sample and post it? Use "Improve question"...
