Obtaning Tweets on Android

I want to create an application which will be showing updates from ONE account be it twitter or facebook (either would do) The basic aim is to create an regularly updating news feed sort of thing while an event is going on, updated by the event conductors. Can Some one please guide me how to do this?

I tried the tweet thing. the explanation is given for main.xml and listview.xml. In my program i switched to main.xml on the click of an image. but i don't get the tweets. any idea why?
