Hi folks

A quick question about CodeProject articles.

I would like to change a title in one of my articles for better search optimization (google pays a lot of attention to this part of a page).

I recon when I change the title, the url of the article will be changed too.

My question is: What will happen with the old link? will it be broken or CodeProject will intellegently redirect visitors to the new URL?

Thank you,
Sergey

I think, this

is the appropriate forum for this question.

As far as I remember, you can change the title, at least when the article is unedited, but unfortunately the URL is based on the original title and unfortunately hardly can be changed. It's important to get a good title before you start submission.

If the article is finally submitted, it's probably not too late. If the article is edited, you don't have direct access to modification of it, but you still ask for modification if you write e-mail to the editorial. It will be available if you click "Modify article" in the top right corner of its page. Hopefully, title also can be modified. Anyway, ask the editor or your article about it.

(I used to tell everyone that the most important part of any project is its title; should you get it wrong, and everything else gradually goes wrong… :-) and this is just one of the reasons.)

However, if you have a good idea on how to improve things, you can post it here:
