how to create application like media center in win32 API

i want to create an application(UI) like Windows Media Center (one with good glossy feel). In same MDI application i want to embed some .exe(opengl demo) to browse
in and play selected in full screen

my question is,
is it possible to build such thing? if yes, how it could be built in vc++?
