confused installaing vs2010 and vs2008

i installed vs2008 then vs 2010 in same machine
when i start vs2008 open vs shell that hasn't any project type c# or vb
how can i open vs2008 in professional version that i installed

Not clear. You can always select what version of VS to open -- they are different programs, installed separately. And you always can check up the version, just click on Help/About; no need to look at "project type".
Working with two or more versions of VS was never be a problem.
