i tried to install my ZTE MF190 3g dongle on Ubuntu 12.04. it required qt3 runtime library. i got it from packages.ubuntu.com and tried to install it, but qt3 in turn required libc6 >=2.4 which in turn required libgcc1 which in turn required something else and so on.
is there some real solution to this problem. i can't access wifi and also internet on ubuntu in any way after all i was installing that driver to use my dongle to connect to internet which i am not able to do presently. please help.

also there are 2 network menus appearing on the top. can 1 be removed.

also i can't use wifi and bluetooth. even if its on by hardware switch it still can't be switched on from ubuntu.

So many problems but the first one is the main one. please help. thanks in advance.

Best way to do installations in Linux is always going to be to make sure you have internet access so that dependencies can be resolved and installed. Not sure why 3G dongle would be dependent on Qt, but in any case, the absolute best place to put questions relating to Ubuntu is going to be the Ubuntu Forums[^].

Sir thanks for the reply. i have already posted this in the ubuntu forums also but there i have not got any satisfactory reply. Codeproject has always given me good responses to all my questions so i posted it here.

You can see it here:

But how to connect to the internet? Since the dongle is not working and that is the only net accessing option i have, the wifi is also not working as mentioned above. Is there any way to resolve the wifi issue so that i can connect to the internet and update everything. thanks.
Instead of using the dialer I used the native GSM Broadband service in the Networking menu which allowed me to connect to the internet. After connecting to the internet I updated ubuntu so now after the update the dialer is successfully running. the problem with wifi still persists so i am now using dual boot to run windows 8 cp alongside on which i can use Wifi.
