Hello,

I'd like to know if there is the possibility to communicate within specific vendor class USB device without install any driver for example to use generic USB windows driver. I need for Windows XP and Windows 7. I know there is this possibility for Human Interface Device using a HID generic device already installed in Windows but I don't know if it's possibile also for "specific vendor class". Code example will be appreciate.

Thank you at all
Cla.

That entirely depends on what the device is, what kind of default interface it presents to Windows, what the device does, and what you are trying to do with it. There is no way based on your question that we can provide any kind of an answer of use. The only one we can give is "It Depends".

Write "It depends"; and you get my 5. :-)
On windows, the state of affairs these days looks like it's highly unlikely that this device can work without a driver.

Thanks for your replay, I have to read some medical test from a small medical device, it take some test from patient and store it in is internal memory, I have a list of command to send throught usb to get info and i know it implement 0xFF usb class. If you need i'll post info about usb device descriptor. I'd like to develop a program that are able to take the device patient test data without install any software . It should be possible? I know in w7 there is winusb.sys already installed in the system and it should be use, but there is something in xp? Thanks
