How do I code a login database?

Hey,
I'm kinda new to programming. I'm trying to program a game, but before I get too ahead of myself, I need to figure out how to make a database for logins. Can anyone help me?

For starters, you need to tag your question with the appropriate technology that you want to write your game in.
If this is to be a browser based game then you will be needing to use technologies like asp.net, php, perl, or something along those lines. If it is a game that runs as an independent application, then you need to look into something like WPF, WinForms, etc.
