I am compiling this under windows 7 but i think this will also not work in windows xp as the compilation error is "BGI Graphics not supported under windows". So what should i do to solve this problem. pls help..

Don't try and use technology that is no longer supported. Learn to use Windows graphics[^].

Solve? Problem?!

Congratulations! You've been sleeping way too long. Now, try to wake up.

BGI has died at some 20 years ago or so. It was created by Borland, where Object/Turbo/Delphi Pascal and Delphi, major predecessor of .NET, were created, but BGI was never anything good. Even it 1987, what it was born:

So how can i run c graphics programs? give solution if u can don't avoid it saying it is a nightmare.

Oh, I can see, Solution 3 provides appropriate reference.
I hope, it satisfies your interest in software development, for a while.
And, after that, you may take interest in some alternatives: DirectX, .NET, multiplarform GTK+...
There is a lot of stuff...
