Is there any privillege is there to set the GUID format for all the users in the AD 2008 .

There is no way to change the 'guid' attribute of an active directory object. In AD the 'Guid' attribute is is the one which uniquely identifies your object. This is its id and the 'Guid' attribute is using the GUID format (I know this is a somehow confusing... no one would call a DATE column 'date' but Microsoft did it they called a GUID column 'Guid').

To make a long story short: the id of an object must be universally unique that's why you can't change it and only the system can assign it.


if you want further explanation on why it must be universally unique then imagine that Ford buys General Motors then they will create a bridge between their respective AD Forests and all users, computers, printers, mailboxes, etc... will remain uniquely identified with no risk of collusion.
