I want to know whether Windows server 2003 support shruti gujarati font?
If yes then how to install it?

Solution 1

All platforms supporting .NET support Unicode, simply because .NET string support is totally Unicode based.

Hence, those systems support Gujarātī, and, I tested, by default. Actually, this script is so popular that it is supported on nearly all modern systems by default; you don't need to install anything. But I don't know what do you mean by Shruti, in this context. There is no such script or writing system, is it?

Are you sure it's a font, not a script variant? Any reference? In other words, is Shruti a cultural phenomenon or a product?

This is a product, the question is incorrect: product supports something, in this case, some glyphs. If this is a script variant, a cultural phenomena, I just don't know. If it has additional characters standardized in Unicode but not supported by available font, and if you have supporting font, you should simply install it in the system. Yes, as simple as that. If you don't have the font which supports something you need (and not available in out-of-box implementation of Gujarātī fonts), you need to obtain it.

(Too many guesswork because I'm not sure you really understand the cultural aspects and Unicode. Yes, I know you are from India, but, unfortunately, I met so many CodeProject inquirers from India who understand the concepts around Indian language much less than I do, so I always doubt. At least you know what is Gujarātī, but many asked about "Hindi fonts" or something like that, which is totally incorrect... So, if you use your knowledge and take into account my considerations, you will find out the truth. Your follow-up questions and clarifications are very welcome, of course...)

Shruti is an OpenType font for the Indic script - Gujarati. It is based on Unicode, contains TrueType outlines and has been designed for use as a UI font.

1) Gujarātī is already supported; you can check up what character set is supported with what font if you run CharMap.exe. This is the application is bundled with all Windows versions.
2) If you have some OpenType font, install it on the system.
