Disadvantage of high sql server transaction timeout

Hi Expert,

Sql Server Database table contains more than 1 millions entries.

And default sql server transaction timeout is 30 seconds.


I am using winform for front end(C#).

And some of the long running queries show

Unable to modify table.
Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.

is there any disadvantage to increase default sql server transaction timeout?

Please help me.
