the sub-domains in this question are purely for example purposes...

I have a site called www.world.com with multiple sub-domains called southafrica.world.com / australia.world.com

I want to achieve two things:

each subdomain must use the files of the root domain (i.e. i don't want to duplicate the same content for each sub-domain)
each sub-domain must filter by country id (with a parameter in the sub-domain web.config file)
Hope this explains what i would like to achieve.

please reply...

Thanks

emanuel

All virtual directories/web application inside one parent web site in IIS inherits web.config of parent web site. So anything you define in parent web site (web.config) will be available to all web application inside.

Different web sites can not share same web.config entries.

Please confirm do you have multiple web sites or one web site having multiple child web applications?

Your question is not really clear to me.
