I want get automatically populate serial number when i click on the boxes in table in AUTOCAD 2008

we have a requirement in my project Autocad 2008,

I am creating table in autocad using lines, after creating table i want get serial number(1,2,3..) automatically when i click on particular boxes in a table.

Eaxample : when i click on a box first time it will display as 1 number, and clicking on another box(what ever box in a table) it will display as 2 number like that.... So it will generates serial number automatically in a table

my question is what can i do in AutoCAD to get serial numbers in boxes when i click on box in a
table which is created by lines using AutoCAD 2008?
And for that purpose what should i do?
