Can I Ping a computer by its computer name from another computer on same domain? If I don't want to ping its IP address?

I did ping my computer name from another computer i=and it didn't work, is there anything I need to do to make it work?

The reason I want to do it is that I hosted a web application on my IIS and I want to give the user the url but I don't want to show the IP my IP address.

you would usually have a DNS entry associated with the TCP-IP Address - the entry name could/would be the pc name in your case

If this is 'internal' to your company, then, you need to investigate how to set up the Windows DNS Server
