How to Access Parallel Port via Serial to Parallel Converter/adapter

Hi ,
In C#.Net ,I have to access circuit via parallel port,but in my laptop i dnt have any parallel port.
What should i do to control parallel port. is there any way around or by using any converter and adapter.
I have one serial and one USB port available .
Any kind of help is welcome.
