I need the technical details of the content format of a SoftNI Subtitle SUB file. An example file would be more than sufficient to illustrate the format. I need to write a conversion program to create input to a program that uses this format as input but never describes the format.

What are you talking about? Any links? Language, platform? Frameworks/libraries used? Any relevant detail?

If you don't know what it is then why are you commenting? www.softni.com A file format has nothing to do with language or anything else. Wow!

This question is apparently too specialized and detailed.
I did get a sample file from a vendor. If anyone else
should ever happen to care, it is a plaintext format
basically like this:

Digital Semiconductor,
00:00:00.09\00:00:01.09
headquartered in Hudson,
Massachusetts,
00:00:01.10\00:00:03.06
designs, manufactures and markets
00:00:03.07\00:00:05.09
industry leading
semiconductor products.
00:00:05.10\00:00:08.02

Applying some Bing-fu I found:
https://wiki.videolan.org/SubViewer/[^]
Which includes some sample info and a reference link.

@Matt, Close but not the same thing. Subviewer is not SoftNI. It has the same extension but there are a dozen different sub formats.
