Hi ,

I have sqlserver2005,express, running on a windows 7 professional machines .my 5 systems are able to connect to the server without any trouble . but one of my new computer is not able to connect the sqlserver error is "timeout expired the timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding "

new system OS is windows 7 ultimate.

kindly let me what to do with the new machines .

anything i need to install here ..

its very urgent please .

If other computers are able to connect to it - then from the malfunctioning machine ping the server hosting computer - check if you can see it on the network. Also - how are you connecting to the server? if you're using hostname - try clearing DNS cache on malfunctioning machine - in command prompt type "ipconfig /flushdns".

For a hit-and-try, try disabling your antivirus and firewall.
