Python tKinter read keyboard input on background of form

Hi, i'm building a form with python for my Raspberry Pi.

When my form is showing i need to scan a barcode with a barcode scanner as keyboard input and with that code i need to connect to a mysql database.

The barcode shouldn't be displayed, only be read on the background of my form and used to connect to mysql.

How can i do this?

I'm new to python so any help is welcome!
