How do I add a timestamp in Google Visualization api (geo chart)?

I have a Google Visualization api (geo chart) which is refreshing every 5 sec. I need to place a timer inside it showing last refreshed time.

I have googled it. data.addcolumn('date', 'Date') is not working in this scenario. How do I achieve this? Any help would be appreciated...
