on grid sort click which event call fist?

i have kendo grid in partial view in which data binds depends on click of check box in another grid in same page. i want to apply filter and sort on that grid, on page load its working but on ckeck box click data binds again and then click on column header for sort then post back occurs and giving error. so how to avoid it? is post back occurs on click for sort..if yes how to avoid it? which event calls on click of sort?
