Dear All,

First of All, greetings to all.
This question may seem stupid to you.

We have a RCS running in Unix Server.Which is the repository for production code (C++ and Tuxedo).
Can I see that in my IDE and get the latest codes checked out from the RCS?
Which IDE should we use?
These days we need to go in Unix server and use Vi Editor for editing.
Or need to manually ftp the code to local machine.

Can't we do the same like we have SVN plugin in Eclipse Java Development?

Rgds,
Deb

You didn't provide any relevant information:
1. What RCS are you using? We can't possibly know which IDE supports it if you don't offer at least that much information!
2. Is the RCS you use a given, or are you willing/able to switch to another?
3. What OS do your developer client machines run? There's no point suggesting IDEs if the clients don't support it. It doesn't matter what OS the repository is hosted on - e. g. we have our SVN repository on an Apache Server, and connect to it from our Windows clients through the built-in VisualStudio support for SVN.

As for manually ftp-ing the code and using Vi - you really should invest some time to investigate modern development tools! It will pay off in no time at all!
