Mass change IE05 for Equipments with a blank value

Hi there,

I want to execute a mass change via Tcode IE05 for a restricted list of installed equipments.
When trying to update the ABC-indicator field (initially having a blank value) with a new value e.g. '2', the system is not updating at all.
Anybody an answer ?
