Looking for a mapping control

Hi,

I am looking for a library with a mapping control that can show points on a map from post codes. Added benefit would be a built in way to select a rectangle area and get all the points in that area.

This is in a c# Winform application.

I have had a little look around and have seen some options, notably the google maps API.

I was just curious what options are out there? and what are the pros and cons of them?

If anyone has worked on a similar project id appreciate your experiences
