Restricting default behaviour of Auto Refresh on Bing map

I have created a webpage in web application using C# Asp.net which shows a bing map with several pushpins on it and Auto Refresh functionality is even done using update panel.How do I stop the default behaviour of AutoRefresh functionality on the map when a Popup(Infobox) on Map is open.
