Help with the best practices for visualizing development of below software project.

Ultimate Objective: Building a website/browser-based mini software (runs on php/mysql) and to diversify it to an Android App and as a Windows software using Java. Essentially, there would be three independent applications that would share a database.

Suggest any good visualizing/modelling tool(s) to conceptualize, plan, organize, analyze that would help save time and money.

Please detail your advices, thanks!

Will Microsoft Project, Visio be any help? Open to other tools too!

Probably you want to visualize architecture, database schema and other technical stuff. Then Microsoft project, a project management tool, cannot help. You can use it for just project management, without any integration with anything technical. And I would advise to avoid Visio by all means. I use ArgUML, but not fully satisfied. I dislike nearly everything I tried.
I have some clear ideas how such software should work, both functionally and in technological aspect of implementation, but not many are interested enough to develop such thing, including myself...
