How do I get the latest items from a Facebook page using a crawler?

Hi, I would be greatly gratified if anyone could tell me how to make a web crawler which fetches new items from the Facebook pages of companies. My current approach is that I am getting all of the webpages' text and then saving it to a database.
I would really appreciate any kind of help.

If you're already getting whole page, you can parse it to get only those items you don't already have...
