What's wrong with just trying to open it?

1 solution

Just open it. It will be converted automatically, with your permission (confirmation).

[EDIT]

Vdproj has gone. Forget it. Good riddance. I advise using WiX, much better open-source project. Please see my past answers:

I tried this already but, it is not opening the files. It is not even asking for the permissions to convert.
It is giving an error: "This Version of Visual Studio doesnot have the following project types installed or doesnot support them.......\MyApp.vdproj"

Ha-ha. Forget vdproj. This type has gone and never was 100% legitimate (or correctly integrated with MSBuild) project type, no wonder Microsoft dropped its support.
I advise open-source and legitimate, fully integrated with MSBuild and VS WiX toolkit.
