Fix java.rmi.ConnectException: Connection refused to host a.b.c.d

Hi I have a java-application running on jboss 6.1.0 on a cloudserver. The jnlp shows a login that gives back the shown error. Everything works fine when I activate my vpn to the cloud. In my java-archives I use the fix IP of the cloud, the jboss is configured with the local ip of the mashine on which he is running. All used ports are forwarded in the firewall and the local firewalls are off.
Wrong configuration?
