How can I Set the value that is present in my gridview while populating it to a drop downlist?

Hi,
I have another issue ..I have a dropdown list for City with id ddlCity.I have a table which contains the city names.My wish is that when i am selecting the table row for editing,the drop downlist shows the City column data that is present in the index 0 as defult.But what I want is that the ddlcity should show the City column data of selected row as default .How can i do..Please tell me??

Try to bind your dropdown in grid_RowDataBound event.
