1 solution

Yes, this one is a simple Google-able question, and the answer is here from Wikipedia, at this page for the Windows 1.0[^]. A simple answer would be, MS-DOS was used to create the Windows 1.0, and MS-DOS[^] is also a product of Microsoft.

That is a second question by you. However, DOS is also programmed using different languages like Assembly etc, so Windows 1.0 was built upon the DOS framework. This question has been answered, please Mark it as solution.

An operating system is developing using, Machine language or Assembly language. DOS was also built on these languages, a low level programming language is used in this process. DOS was the basic framework, since Windows 1.0 just had an extra feature of Graphics, it started to sell more as compared to DOS. They're both alike, just the multi-tasking windows and the GUI makes it better than DOS.

You always need to be using a low-level programming language, to build operating systems. DOS and Windows 1.0, infact Windows 10 would be built using some low-level programming language. That is so because the speed of a high-level programming language is way more slow than expected and needed for an operating system.
