communication with server

hi..i have build a project using netbeans ide,jsp. Now i want to keep it in the internet with my own server.....i have server system also and my project is in client system. my question is
how can i keep my project in my server system?
how can i communicate from client system with server system?
please provide me links which helps me to study regarding this topic....

Since we have no idea what your project is it is impossible to answer. If it's a web application then you need a web server. If it is a simple client server, then you need a soccket library. etc.

hello richard...
my project is a web application and i have a linux server...i just build a web application with mysql,glassfish server which is in netbeans ide in my windows laptop...now i want to make this project live so i want to publish it in my college server so than college students can use it....but i dnt know how...help me....
