Can we store binary data in xml file as separate section

I want to store the big data in xml file in separate section after the xml main tag, and this data should be linked from one of the tag in xml. I can store this big data in separate file and link to xml.

If something is possible, doesn't mean it should be done. Save your binary in separate file (or database) and link to it in XML.

It is possible to save lots of data into XML, but it is text file so you should consider how to change binary data into some kind of string (maybe base64) or you can save as-is and have a bunch of strange characters in the XML when it tries to show binary in text.
