how to implement search logic in php

I am beginner in php. I spend a lot of time to implement to write search logic but no use I am failing please anyone suggest me how to write search logic in 'header.php' file this 'header.php' file will appears in entire website.

What do you want to search? The Internet, intranet, database?

I have a books table in database. when ever user search for particular book like 'xyz' under 'fiction' category I have to print related books. and that search box is in 'header.php' for my site. I am including it in to all .php files

Learn from this tutorials and adapt to your need: live search with PHP[^]
You can save the html file in this tutorial as php and include it in other php pages using PHP include and require[^]
