Sql injection

I need to develop a project which will work as web application scanner and detect threats like SQL INJECTION and XSS in other sites. I do have a knowledge of sql injection. but dont know how to begin the detection part.
can any body help me?????

This article has a lot of information on SQL Injection - it does not talk about detection but may actually give you some ideas.
